Ken Wonderly Emergency Fund

The Ken Wonderly Emergency Fund was established in 1991, in loving memory of Ken Wonderly, a dedicated and active supporter of The Arc Jackson County. Ken’s legacy of compassion and commitment to our community lives on through this vital fund, which provides a lifeline to families facing unforeseen crises.

 

Purpose & Impact

The Ken Wonderly Emergency Fund is dedicated to offering last resort, immediate financial assistance to individuals and families facing unexpected crises in Jackson County. Our mission is to ensure that no one is left without support during their most vulnerable moments, bridging the gap when other resources are unavailable.

Since its inception, the fund has been a lifeline for countless Jackson County residents, addressing unexpected and urgent needs such as emergency medical travel expenses, utilities, and housing. Our goal: a stable, secure future.

Applying for Assistance

Step 1: Describe your emergency to your JCDDS Services Coordinator, Creative Supports Personal Agent, or Provider. You or a family member must have an intellectual and/or developmental disability to qualify.

Step 2: Ask your Services Coordinator, Personal Agent, or Case Manager to fill out an application on your behalf. Most of them already have our application. If they don't, they can contact us at office@thearcjackson.org

Step 3: A committee composed of four Board Members will review your application. Our admin staff will let you know if you have been approved.
